Security Policy
We understand that the security of your information is of great importance to you, The Smarter Barter website operates as a secure site (SSL) allowing you peace of mind when entering your own personal information or processing credit card payments.
What security is in place?
All members operating on the site are password approved by Smarter Barter before being able to login and trade
All credit card purchases are processed in real-time using a minimum 128bit encryption (SSL)
We do not store any credit card details, all transactions are processed by the bank - We only receive the success or failure of a transaction
All transactions are fully audited from commencement to completion - this includes IP address details, allowing us to provide the proper authorities all of the information we can should your Smarter Barter be compromised by lost passwords, or other fraudeulent activity
All personal information is secured by 128bit encryption (SSL).
Delivery Policy
Once a product of yours has been purchased, you are sent an email confirming the purchase, with the contact details of the buyer. It is your responsibility to contact the buyer via email, fax or phone as soon as possible to organise either delivery by you, or pick up by the buyer.
If you are posting or delivering the product, it is your responsibility to ensure it is packaged suitably and securely, and that you keep all despatch invoicing and documentation for proof of delivery.
If the buyer is to pick up the product, but after 30 days from purchase date has not, provided you have tried to organise with the buyer but to no avail, you can contact your broker to investigate, on the understanding that it is not our responsibility to resolve. We will, however, assist where necessary.
Refund Policy
Once a transaction is complete the Exchange shall have no liability or part in any refunds or exchanges of the item traded between members.
As the buyer:
you have viewed and read any description of the product
you have sufficient Trade dollars to pay for the product
you have sufficient cash funds to pay the seller for any cash component, and (or) any delivery costs of the product
you acknowledge that you are committed to the purchase, and no reversal or cancellation is possible
Privacy Policy
Your privacy is of paramount importance to us.
All personal information requested by us is only used to assist in providing you with the best possible services of the Exchange, and is based on The Commonwealth of Australian Law's Privacy Act of 1988.
Your personal information allows us to focus on supplying goods and services to you to benefit both your business and (or) personal life.
On the Exchange's web site, we record all your activities when buying and selling, products listed, and information is posted on your private web pages.
We use your name, address and e-mail address to bill you, and you agree that we may use your personal information to keep you informed and up to date on newsletters, promotions, and any changes and improvements to our services, and to promote you to fellow Members of the Exchange.
